Two new shows posted

Well turns out I have got two game shows now. GameTrailers has finally put together their weekly show called GT Weekly. I am not doing a ton for them (please write them at geoff over at gametrailers.com and tell them how terrible that is) but enough to keep things interesting. Next on the table is QuakeCon.

GT Weekly Episode 1 can be viewed here. Check out the CPL coverage for my little bit.

Episode 2 of Yahoo's "Reset" is finally live. Stream it, download it or watch it on your PSP (a new feature!). With your support and patronage, you'll be helping three lovely people pay rent.

Enjoy, but please send feedback as well. There are a ton of things we can do better, but I really value any and all opinions.

where should feedback be sent?

here, on yahoo 360, or yahoo games?

:)

Nice work by the way. I think you looked a little uncomfortable on ep 1. you didn't quite enunciate all your lines clearly. But you were much better on ep 2. You'll do well at this. You seemed comfortable in both the studio and on location segments. I like the fact that you guys let the developers do the talking. That's lacking on alot of these kinds of shows.

Ray has a personality geared for this sort of show. He's a little too animated and fidgety with his hands. Not so much in ep 2. But there is alot of it in the E3 episode. And just a tad in ep 1. I think overall he's gotten exceedingly more comfortable with the camera.

Zoe looked a little stiff in ep 2. She steemed to be standing in a very awkward and unnatural pose. But she'll get better, I'm sure.

Regardless of those issues, the production values are outstanding, at least for an online media service. They stream really well too. I like how each segment is cut up individually. Allows the user to pick and choose what they want to see. Very smart.

I'm a little fuzzy on the revenue aspects of this. No subscription, so I assume ad revenue is the only way. Except payola by the game industry. I guess the amount of revenue this creates is dependent on the kind of hits you're getting for your slice of the yahoo world.

All in all a good effort. You should all be proud of it.

good luck with it, kat. Hopefully you can parlay it into something more visible and lucrative. You know, more than just rent paying :)

I was kidding about the payola thing.

Thanks Random Guy. I appreciate the time!

I think the shows are wonderful Katherine. Well done!

Hey Kat,

I really think that you all made a huge step in the right direction with your most recent Yahoo gig. First, you looked very natural. Second, the dynamic camera movement is starting to look good - still needs different angles, but I know it's not like a fricking studio budget or anything. Regardless, I'm glad to see the zoom ups and dynamic shots. Music has improved as well. Although, I think it still could be improved even more. My offer stands.

I felt the first segment was just 45 seconds too long, which in this type of work is too long.

What else...I love that part where the producer says “Big ass cow, excuse my language..” classic- that almost made me cry...rich...love it.

Regarding hits on the website for the feature - I don't know what you are doing for this, but as a business person I would bug the hell out of Yahoo to support your slot and advertise it. Also, I would get guerilla with it and pimp this shit out! If you are too busy to do it, figure out someone who can. Hire a marketing intern for free – a student at a decent Cal. University would do it for free. Get people to peep it, and you can keep doing this.

Anyway - I can see a lot of hard work went into this and I want to make certain to say congratulations. You all did a fantastic job and most importantly, like I said before, there was an improvement.

Jeremiah

GT piece - I forgot.

I think the host (girl walking around, speaking throughout) seemed a little artificial to me as a gamer...not her I guess, the idea of her...as a guy she's ok to look at - she has a good speaking voice... but my gamer in me didn't feel comfortable with her. Sorry if she is your friend. I'm not trying to slander, just offering my gamer opinion on the matter.

So, I think you may lack a little of the polish - but have more credebility AND you showed improvement in a short period of time = huge potential...so you should def. have more of a role for them. geoff @ GT can take that to the bank.
