EA Buys 20% Of Ubisoft

"December 20, 2004 - Well... wow... EA has purchased a 19.9% stake in Ubisoft, with figures placing the purchase between $85 and $100 million:

"Electronic Arts today announced an investment in international game developer and publisher UbiSoft Entertainment, headquartered in Rennes, France. The investment represents approximately 19.9 percent interest in the company -- shares purchased as a block from Talpa Beheer B.V. to be completed upon obtaining antitrust clearance from the U.S. government. Financial terms were not disclosed."

The $300m NFL deal, the purchase of Criterion & Renderware, special Xbox Live terms with Microsoft... where does it end?"

Not everyone's crazy about EA.

The NBA denied them a deal. Hoo-ah!!

I guess at some point we'll get to play:

John Madden's Ghost Recon 3
Battlefield Myst
Prince of Persia PGA Tour 2005
Rayman's Chessmaster
Tom Clancy's SSX4

I can hardly wait....

This will be short and very precise. Like always when a company manages to become a "conglomerate" such as EA as they try to get their hands on everything. I don't know if this is good or bad yet, but time will tell.
