RS3: Black Arrow Downloads

"Ubisoft has already released one map free of charge - Village, which will be followed by a four-map package (Assault Pack #1) that will cost only $5.00 - a pittance for four intense levels packed with fast-paced close-quarter action, and hours of replayability. Look for the four new maps of the Assault Pack within the next several weeks."
[via GamerFeed]- and patch will be here soon, promise

does anyone else feel that charging for new multiplayer content is a bit of a pisser? i mean, yes $5 is a mere pittance, but when i log into xbox live and find that there is NOONE playing the old maps on a title, (and a dialog box informs me that if i "maybe" try downloading new maps i might find a game), and have to pony up more money for a game i already bought, it makes me feel like somehow i've been cajoled, coerced, and otherwise forced to spend more money just to be able to play my game online.
i dunnno, mebbe i'm just a cheap bastard, but it kinda chaps my hide.

the map developers need to put food on the table. if ubisoft is getting these maps from volunteers, then it would be a different story. don't look over the free maps or start assuming all maps will be free. atleast ubisoft is staying on the low side of the fee.

i've found myself buying extra copies of games just to show my appreciation of a good game that has tickled my fancy so much that it makes family members feel i have "a problem" and should "get help" as if Gaming Anonymous meetings were available. typically i watch my money pretty tightly but when it comes to love (of a game, of a woman, etc), i let loose of the reigns.
